Great print results start with great files. Follow these technical guidelines to ensure your design looks as sharp on paper as it does on screen.
Four critical checks before you save your file.
Extend background images 3mm beyond the trim line.
Convert all RGB images and spot colors to CMYK.
Ensure all images are high resolution (300 pixels/inch).
Convert text to outlines/curves to prevent font issues.
Machines have mechanical tolerances. To prevent thin white lines on the edge of your print, you must extend your background image beyond the final trim line. This extension is called Bleed.
Screens display at 72 DPI (Dots Per Inch). Print requires 300 DPI. Images taken from the web often appear pixelated or blurry when printed.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is for screens. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is for ink.
Gold standard. Preferred for all work.
Package linked images and fonts.
Export as PDF where possible.
Must be high res & CMYK. Text not editable.
Not print ready. Unstable layout.
RGB only. Not suitable for print.
