Menus are the most handled item in your venue. They are spilled on, dropped, and wiped with sanitiser 50 times a night. A paper menu will disintegrate in a week. We recommend synthetic stocks that look elegant but fight back.
The "Never-Laminate" Solution: Synthetic Paper
Traditional lamination can peel at the edges, allowing moisture to wick in. Synthetic Paper (Yupo) is a plastic-based sheet that prints like paper but is completely waterproof, tear-proof, and chemical resistant. It requires no lamination, meaning no edges to peel.
Finishes for Atmosphere
If you must use paper (for a specific texture), encapsulation is the only durable option. However, for high-end dining, we suggest heavy card stocks with a Scuff-Free Matt Laminate or a Soft-Touch finish to hide fingerprints and reduce glare under romantic lighting.
Foldability & Binding
Menus must lie flat. A thick menu that springs open is annoying. We use specific scoring techniques (channel scoring) to ensure even 350gsm card stays closed. For multi-page wine lists, we recommend screw-binding or copper staples for a rustic, premium aesthetic.
